LEONARD J. HERTZBERG, M.D., is a board certified psychiatrist with over forty years experience. His expertise in the field of forensic psychiatry encompasses medical expert evaluations and forensic testimony in cases involving criminal and civil trials; as well as appropriateness of treatment.
He is an alumnus of Lehigh University in Bethlehem , PA , where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa, Cum Laude. He obtained his M.D. degree at Tufts Medical School in Boston , MASS. He is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association; former President of Maryland Psychiatric Society. In 2010, Dr. Hertzberg was honored at the annual Maryland Psychiatric Society meeting with the Lifetime of Service Award.
Dr. Hertzberg's forensic psychiatry practice consists of providing a range of psychiatric services to a broad spectrum of individual clients and institutions. Much of his practice focuses on forensic evaluation of violent and non-violent criminal behavior, competency to stand trial and criminal responsibility, medical malpractice, Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs), and disability evaluations.
